Happy (United) State(s) of Carnatic Music
As you might know, I am currently touring the United States along with Shri. Pakala Ramdas and Shri.Melakkaveri Balaji. I feel very happy for Carnatic Music in this country as...
1. I am allowed 3 + hours singing time for a concert
2. People don't generally walk out during the thaniavarthanam, with a few exceptions.
3. They listen to elaborate RTPs and neraval/swaraprasthara with interest
4. There is a bunch of students everywhere, with some enthu, to bombard us with questions after the concert, of course, only on music!
......Hope such an atmosphere is recreated back home, sometime in the near future....
